Every quarter, MSD submits a report to the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S Department of Justice to inform them of updates on programs, construction, performance and project schedules. Another report is submitted annually.
The IOAP is a plan in response to the Consent Decree to control sewer overflows in the community.

This is the largest water quality treatment center in Kentucky. This plant also handles all of the solids processing for the smaller treatment plants in the Louisville Metro area.
